Information

Paws at Play Dog Walking prides itself on being your trustworthy and dependable neighbourhood dog walking company.

Safety

Our Staff
We have a small tight knit team of dedicated walkers whose main goal is to build a consistent, fun and loving relationship with your dog. Each employee is bonded and insured, and has undergone extensive training that includes Pet First Aid + CPR.

Regulation
Paws at Play exclusively walks in Pacific Spirit Park where group sizes and behaviour are regulated by the park rangers. Every permit holding company is required to wear a high visibility vest with the company name on the back.

Travelling to and from the park
We organize pick up by neighbourhood, so time spent driving around in the car is kept to a minimum. Each Paws at Play vehicle provides a comfortable and safe trip to and from the park. Water is provided at the end of each walk and on wet days everyone is towelled off being dropped back at home. Company cars are never left running while picking up our furry friends and we are vigilant about keeping car maintenance up to date.

Balance

Leash privileges
During group walks, off leash privileges are only for those dogs who have a strong recall. We rotate off leash time so that all the doggies are tired and happy at the end of the walk.  On leash only dogs still get a great work out and are able to sniff and explore without the risk that comes with off leash.

Group composition
Within the group walk we balance the ages and breeds of dogs so that every group has a mix of big dogs, smaller dogs, old and young alike. Only well behaved, non aggressive dogs are allowed on group walks. Before a dog joins the pack they are vetted to insure they will be a good fit.

Walking diversity
Pacific Spirit Park is huge; we often switch up the trail entrances so all our furry pals are exposed to different smells and new trail adventures. We host morning and afternoon group walks.  Private walks and bathroom breaks can also be scheduled.

Communication

Daily updates
At the end of every day we send out Daily Dog Reports which detail the day’s walk along with a couple of photos.  This is a great way to learn of your furry pal’s friends as well as confirm that he/she did get out and have a great walk.

Correspondance
Email and phone call requests are answered within the working day, weekend and holiday requests are answered within 24 hours.  The owner is always the first point of contact with every issue from feedback about their dog’s behaviour to scheduling issues.

Local connection
We are familiar with the other local pet service companies.  If we are all booked up or unable to offer a specific service we would be more than happy to connect you with one of the other companies who may be able to help.
